Website accessibility is a legal matter. It’s good for business too.
The ADA requires businesses to ensure visitors with disabilities can access their websites for the purpose of receiving services, including scheduling appointments and making payments. What we look for
While regulations specifying technical standards for ADA-compliant websites do not currently exist, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are widely used and our team audits to WCAG Level 2.1 AA.
The key to compliance is ensuring that everyone has equal access to all website elements. For example, the website should implement resizable text and captions for visitors with impaired sight and hearing. Images should include text descriptions to ensure they can be identified by a screen reader. Videos should include audio descriptions and text-only functionality accessible through a keyboard.
