Students parents suffer as more campus child care centers close

From The Hechinger Report: “For college students who are also parents, a population that makes up more than 20 percent of undergraduates, one of the most important supports is access to child care. … Between 2003 and 2015, the number of campus child care centers declined precipitously, according to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. In 2015, 44 percent of community colleges offered on-campus childcare, compared to 53 percent in 2003. Among public four-year campuses, 55 percent offered child care in 2003; that percentage dropped to 49 percent 12 years later.”
