Your Own Dent in the Universe

“We are inventing the future,” [Jobs told a job applicant]. “Think about surfing on the front edge of a wave. It’s really exhilarating. Now think about dog-paddling at the tail end of that wave. It wouldn’t be anywhere near as much fun. Come down here and make a dent in the universe.” – “Steve Jobs”, Walter Isaacson, 2011

Typically an entrepreneur founds her company to make a difference in the world. She has identified a need and believes that she has the solution (product or service) to fill it. This is her own chance to make a dent in the universe. How she executes against that vision, how much passion she brings to the pursuit, how much commitment she has through odds and headwinds, this becomes her chance. Her success. Her own dent in the universe.

The people who join her on her path excel by bringing all of their passion and committing to their pursuit of this unified goal. Aim high and you can inspire people to do so with you.

That’s why I repeat my co-founders’ expression of our organization’s purpose:

Kiosk exists to create amazing, life changing experiences for the people who work for, with, and around us.

That’s something worth showing up for every day.
