Good Cheese, Good Honey, Good People. The Recipe for a Perfect Summer Staff Social
We recently made the most of the summer weather and our scenic North Bay location with a summer social outing to visit two of the North Bay’s many artisanal foodie destinations. First stop, lunch and cheese tasting at the Fork, the private dining room at the Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company.
Nestled in Pacific coastal farmland, the family-owned Cheese Company pioneered Original Blue, California’s only classic style blue cheese. Today, their roster includes aged Gouda and a delicate, fresh Mozzarella only available at the Fork and a few Bay Area farmer’s markets. These and other cheeses were enjoyed before a delicious lunch (featuring, yes, more cheese), and a tour of the farm.
For our second stop, we visited another Point Reyes artisanal standout, the Heidrun Meadery, home to fragrant honeys and Champagne-style meads derived from aromatic honey varietals, like Arizona Desert Mesquite, California Orange Blossom and Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Blossom. As team building exercises go, sharing a tasting flight in a sun-dappled Marin meadery, or sampling farm-fresh cheeses together, is pretty hard to beat. We hope you’re enjoying your summer as much as we are, and finding as many delights in your part of the world as we so frequently do.
